The 150th anniversary of the Museum of Glass in Murano

In occasion of the 150 anniversary of the Glass Museum of Murano, The Fondazione Musei Civici Venezia has organized the retrospective exhibition "1861-2011. Un’isola un’arte un museo" which traces the last century and a half of history, through a gallery of nearly 200 works, among the most representative of the collection of the Museum.
These include an exhibition dedicated to the production of Carlo Moretti.
The Museum was founded in 1861, thanks to the great work of Antonio Colleoni (1811-1855), at the time mayor of Murano and of the abbot Vincenzo Zanetti (1824-1883), a lover of glass, taking place in the ancient Palazzo dei Vescovi di Torcello, in Murano.
